U.S. Truck Driver Training School has provided CDL Training since 1994 and was founded by Joseph LaBarge. The first training program offered was with one truck and one instructor. In a short time, the school grew from a two-man operation to a first-class training institution, and was approved as a third-party testing facility for the State of Michigan. Agencies such as Detroit Workforce Development (DWD), Michigan Works, ACCESS, Focus Hope, and JVS helped U.S. Truck Driver Training School flourish as the premier CDL Training provider in the Detroit metropolitan area.

USTDTS is headquartered in Sterling Heights, MI, where it provides a full range of services including training, job placement assistance, and financial aid.

USTDTS has not only provided exceptional training for the general public, but it has also provided training for employees of fortune 500 companies such as the following: Ford, GM, Chrysler, Merritor Wabco, Kraft Nabisco, and more. These companies have requested, on multiple occasions, customized on-site training meaning that USTDTS has brought their own equipment and instructors to the customer. Among other things, USTDTS has received awards, accolades, and honorable mentions from the following organizations: Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Michigan Works, Commercial Vehicle Training Association, Detroit Fire Department, Detroit Police Department, and the state of Michigan. Governor Jennifer Granholm awarded USTDTS with a special tribute celebrating the opening of its state of the art facility in Sterling Heights, MI and the schools dedication to job placement.
