Michigan 120 Hour Class A CDL Program
m-f 8:30-4:30 3 weeks or Sat/sun 8:30 – 4:30 | 8 weekends
Our Class A truck driving program is designed to train individuals in the skills required to obtain their Class “A” CDL License. A student entering our Class A truck driving program should have some previous experience driving trucks or other heavy equipment. Because most Over-the-Road trucking companies require a minimum of 160-Hours of training, this program is designed for those individuals that have their own resources to secure a local job.
The training program hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 for three weeks. Week one is Classroom Training. In the classroom you will learn how to obtain your CDL Training Permit, how to do Log Books and the Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations for Drivers. During week two you will begin training with the Tractor-Trailer in the Yard learning the backing and docking skills and how to do a proper Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection. During week three you will go out on the road with our Instructor to learn all of the necessary skills to handle a big rig out on the open road. You will learn how to shift gears, how to make turns properly, how to safely enter and exit from Freeways and other safe driving skills.
Upon completion of our CDL Class A training, you will be able to take and pass the State of Michigan Road Test to obtain your CDL “A” License.
