40- Hour CDL “B” Program

Straight Truck / Bus Training Program (CDL “B-P” License)

The objective of this course is to obtain your CDL “B-P” License. This is a 40-Hour course that is run Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This program has been designed for those who want to begin a new career driving straight trucks or busses. Having a CDL “B-P” License is great for people who are just getting started in the transportation industry and are not quite ready to drive tractor trailers.

CDL “B-P” drivers can expect to move freight for landscaping companies, produce distributors or even drive cement trucks. With the addition of the passenger endorsement the driver can also drive Busses and other commercial vehicles that involve transporting passengers such as limousines.

The course consists of Classroom, Yard and On the Road training. During the first two days of training you will be in the Classroom learning all of the information necessary to obtain your State of Michigan Temporary Instruction Permit. During the next three days we will train you in a One on One basis for all of your Yard and Road Skills. During the basic maneuvers portion of the course you will learn straight line backing, 90 degree ally docking, right hand turns, the forward pull up and we will also set up a mock test for you. When you are on the road you will learn how to shift and maneuver the bus in both city and highway driving situations. At the end of this program you will take your CDL Examination. The exam will be administered here at our school by our State Licensed third party examiner. When you pass your exam you will then be given your CDL “B-P” certificate. You will then bring your certificate to the Secretary of State where you will exchange it for your License.
